COLLECTING PERSPECTIVES
What draws us
to a work of art.
A painting’s colour, the story behind it, the way it changes a room: collecting starts in many places. Our team brings different interests to the conversation, from Old Masters and nineteenth-century painting to European modernism and contemporary art.
Old Masters & nineteenth-century painting
David’s interests lie in paintings made before the twentieth century, particularly by Italian artists. Looking at a work’s materials, history and place in an artist’s career helps us understand the individual painting, beyond the name on its label.
European modernism
Jemima’s particular interest is European modernism. A conversation might begin with an artist you already admire or with a work that makes you want to look further. We help turn that curiosity into questions worth exploring.
Post-war & contemporary art
Jonathan’s interests include twentieth-century painting and the relationship between art, politics and culture. These connections can offer a way into an artist’s work and bring new meaning to a collection you live with every day.
