COLLECTION ADVISORY

A collection shaped
around you.

Art can bring extraordinary pleasure into everyday life. Whether you are buying your first work or refining an established collection, we begin with what matters to you.

YOUR COLLECTION

It begins
with you.

You may have an artist in mind, a work you cannot stop thinking about or a collection that needs a fresh look. We start there.

We spend time understanding what you enjoy, what you already own and what you want to explore. Together, we find a direction that feels right for you, with room for your taste to change.

01 / WHAT YOU TAKE AWAY

A plan you can use

Depending on what you need, our work can include a review of your collection, a written collecting brief and a shortlist of works to explore. For an individual purchase, a decision note sets out our recommendation, the reasons behind it and anything still to check.

A collection plan brings the next steps together: what to buy, keep, care for or consider selling, and what needs attention first.

02 / ILLUSTRATIVE PROGRAMME

The first 90 days

Days 1–30 · Set the direction
Discuss your interests, review the collection and agree priorities. A written brief guides the research.

Days 31–60 · Explore the options
Review a focused shortlist, arrange viewings and consider the available records. Decision notes explain the choices.

Days 61–90 · Make a plan
Decide what to pursue, defer or care for next. Agree an action plan and a date to review progress.

Illustrative programme. The scope and timing are tailored to each collection.

WITH LAC

A collection
that evolves.

A new interest, a change of home or a work you are ready to part with can raise fresh questions. We can return to the plan with you and help decide what comes next.

THE RIGHT HELP

We explain what LAC will do and where another specialist is needed. Formal authentication, conservation, valuation and legal advice are provided by appropriately qualified professionals.

WHERE TO BEGIN

Tell us about a work you are considering or the collection you want to build. We’ll talk through your priorities and propose how we can help. Work begins once you have agreed the plan and appointed us.
